The case of the missing hat

About 5+ year ago when Bobby and I were dating he got this winter hat. It was one of thos big fuzzy ones that had the ear flaps. I admit, I HATED that hat. I always told him that he couldnt wear it around me, because it embarassed Not long after he got it, it disappeared. I didnt take it, and I have NO IDEA what happened to the stupid hat. I do admit that Iwas overjoyed to hear that is vanished. To this day everyone blames me for the disapearance of that dumb hat! I have sworn on the holy bible and everything and no one believes me. It probally doesnt help that every time the subject comes up I burst into laughter. I cant help it though. I do seem like the guilty one. But I didnt do it....I swear! Anyway, the subject came up tonight at dinner so I thought I would write about it.

All about Ryleigh

She will be 7 months tomorrow! She is 16lbs and 27" long. (I think they measured her wrong though because she was 27" a month ago). Shes wearing anywhere between 6-9mo, and 12mo clothing, size 2 diaper, and size 1 shoe....still! She has her entire closet lined with shoes, mainly size 2 summery shoes that she cant fit into yet! Ugh. She can sit up, not totally on her own yet, but its getting there. She can roll both ways now. Shes been eating some table foods like, things that are soft and I dont have to worry if she swollows it whole. Shes got the dropping game down She will drop it and then give me this puppy dog look like "but mom if you give it to me I promis I woulnt do it again" LOL. She love to play with "adult things" like remotes, paper and keys (eww gross). She can switch things from one and to the other, reach to pick something up, put weight on her legs when standing, Copy some sounds, and feed her self finger foods. Shes come along way from just eating, sleeping and I love watching her grow and learn all of these new things. Im SOOO happy and so blessed to be able to be a SAHM and watch her as she learns all of these new things. Oh, I almost forgot her most important Milestone! She looked right at me the other day and said Mum. Then a few mins later looked at me and said Ma.

Here are a few pictures I took this morning before Running our errands. Shes just too darn cute for words!

How do I measure up?

Ryleigh got Bobbys flip flop caught on her foot the other day.

After I saw how cute it was I decided to put my sandle on her foot.

This next picture I stole the Idea from Carly....Hope you dont mind I thought It was a GREAT picture idea!

So this morning at 5:20am I wake up to a weird sound. It sounded like it was coming from outside, maybe the pool pump getting ready to I look outside and everything is fine. I tell Bobby that I think its just the AC getting ready to kick on, and I lay back in bed. Boy am I lucky he didnt think the answer I gave was good enough! He opened the basement door and water was shooting all over the place! A hose on the toilet came loose, and the noise must have woke me up, because there wasnt that big of a mess. The water was all over the floor in the bathroom down there, and coming out onto the floor outside the bathroom and going right towards the drain, and left where there was no drain. We got it cleaned up pretty quickly, but that could have been really messy! Thank gooness it happend when Bobby was here!

I was reading another post that I found Via Michele about a big sister helping her little brother. It made me start thinking of when I was little and somethings that I did to my sister that I didnt confess to untill I was Here are a few of them.
When my sister was about 1 I was 4. I layed a blanket on the floor and told her to lay down on it. we were playing house and she was the baby. I tryed to swaddle her like I saw on a tv show. After I did my version of the swaddle, I picked her up by sliding my hands and arms under her body. As I was picking her up she fell out of the blankets head first onto the floor and started crying. My parents came running and I told them I didnt know what happened.
Another time we were playing she made me really mad. I picked up a stuffed animal to hit her with. As I swatted her with it. She started crying and I saw blood!? As I looked at the stuffed animal I saw I had hit her with the wined up thing on the back of it. I ran and got my mom and told her she fell back and started crying and I saw blood. She ended up getting a stitch in her head! OOPS.

Now its your turn.....

Whats the worst thing you have done to a sibling and lied about to your parents? Do they know the truth now? When did you tell the truth?

Ryleighs first time at the Good Zoo (Lots of Pics)

I more or less went so I could socialize with grown During the summer M.O.P.S is meeting all over wheeling so the kids can get out and have some fun. We met there at 9:45 am to get everyone rounded up. There were a lot of new faces today. First we went through the inside part of the zoo. Here are some of the things we saw:

This is a Rock something....on the board it said that its the closest relative to the elephant!? (Hes in the middle of the picture climbing in the rocks)

Big snake...YUCK

Funny looking bird

Frog...I thought he was cool looking

Then we went outside and bought our tickets to ride the train. Ryleigh did really well on the train. There was alot of squeeking and banging noises and she just sat there on my lap! I was so proud of her!! Here are some pics of the Train ride:
Ryleigh Eating our ticket

Train conductor

Then we went up the hill to see the bears and Otters, then to the park. There werent any baby swings so I just fed her some lunch. Here is the bear and otters.

Very UGLY bear

This is a Lorikeet. Its such a pretty bird!

After that there were the foxes, Ocelot and some others, but they werent that great. Then it
was off to the wetlands to see the ducks, turtles and funny looking swans (have no idea what they were I guess I should have paid more attention to the signs that tell you what the animals are)

There were 8 turtles on a log and the little one said roll over, roll (this is one of my favorite pictures from today. I think every turtle in the pond was on that log.

Ugly swan looking thing

After that was the barnyard animals. Pig, donkey, chickens, goats, Llama, Owl etc. Here is a pic of the Llama that I liked.

After that we had a picnic lunch and talked, then went home. I didnt get home till 1:30pm! That was the LONGEST I have ever been at the good zoo! The ones from wheeling know what im talking We had a great time. If you want to have a great time with me, the 2nd Friday in July we will be at Oglebay park. We meet at 930am Hope to see you there!

Do you think.....

These are still good??

Did someone forget to send me the memo? ABout 90% of people here use the road to walk, bike, skateboars, ride the scooter, run etc. When there is a perfectly good sidewalk RIGHT beside them! why? If you are someone who walks on the street, beside the sidewalk let me know. I walk on the street, but I also dont have a sidewalk out here in the country. Anyway, just

Old Friend

Today I got together with an old friend. We met in 1st grade. I found her on myspace (or she found me...I cant remember) about 3-4 months ago. She came in last week to visit her family and we got together. The really cool part about it was.....our kids are 5 days apart! I thought that was neat. We went to wheeling park pool today and the kids did great! We all had so much fun hanging out, talking, and bragging about or kids :) Her son must have thought Ryleigh was a hottie, because he decided to give her a french kiss!!! We looked over and WOW! Neither one of us could get to the camera fast We didn't get pic of them swimming, but here are a few I think are cute...

Just hanging out

(Right after the kiss) Ryleigh says "Woah buddy, your moving too fast for me!"

He says "Now Ryleigh, your just so beautiful my darling!" LOL

More on Kaleb Schwade and SBS

Just wanted to add Kaleb is not my son. He is Kristy and Josh's son. I do not know the family, I was just touched by the story because my daughter is 2 days younger than Kaleb.

I found some statistics on here and on here I thought I would share them with you all.

-15% of children's deaths are due to battering and shaking
-15% more are from possible cases of battering or shaking
-The average age of a SBS victim is 6 months old
-More than 60% are male
-Almost 80% of the perpetrators are male
-50% of offenders are the parents
-17% are non relatives
-17% are the mothers boyfriend
-10% are Other
-6% are step parents
-2/3rds of the victims will die or suffer 1 or more permanent disabilities
-medical cost from the initial incident - the first 5 years can range from $300,000-$1,000,000.
-25-50% of Americans don't realize the dangers of shaking a baby, or the long term effects
-3 seconds of shaking is all it take to cause irreparable damage and death
-1 in 4 babies that go to the hospital will die. The other 3 will have irreparable damage such as retardation, cerebral palsy, seizures, paralysis, learning disabilities and that's just a few.

Shaking babies is dangerous because their necks are too weak to support the heavy head, and the baby's brain and blood vessels are fragile. When a baby is shaken the brain bounces all over the skull ripping away the blood vessels that connect it to the skull. Blood then pools in the skull causing irreparable brain damage.

Kristy now has over 74,000 friends and it grows by thousands each and every day. All of these people are telling people who are telling people, etc. Its amazing how the word is getting out about little Kaleb's story! Its on myspace, its in Blogs, Yahoo groups, cafe mom,, ...its literally everywhere! All of this for one very special little boy and a deserving family.

Shaken Baby syndrome is preventable! NEVER NEVER SHAKE A BABY. Put them somewhere safe and WALK AWAY for a few minutes and CALM DOWN!

We FINALLY got a barrette in Ryleigh's Hair yesterday! WOO HOO! She looked so darn cute. Here is a couple pics of this joyous event...

Yesterday I went shopping to get something for Bobby, My dad and FIL for Fathers day. I went to sears first and looked for the Mechanics gloves that he wanted. The ones he wanted they didnt have his size. Left there and walked to Old Navy. I wanted to see what 4th of July stuff they had for Ryleigh. I got a red dress, An Old navy hat, ad a pair of way too cute lil size 1 flip flops. (Yes she has very small feet for her age) I got Bobby a flag T-shirt and me a flag tank. I went to JCP and bough Ryleigh a skirt to go with a shirt my mom got her. I went back to sears and got 2 shirts for me, i got Bobby a magnetic mat for when he works on cars and a long magnet thingy to reach things that fall when your working on a car. I went to walmart and got a card for my dad, and Bobby and little bottles of Bon Bons nail polish for Ryleighs toes, and a nail file for me. All that shopping for the "dads" and I think I spent more on me and I did go back to sears later with Bobby and he found that the large gloves fit fine and got those, and an oragization boz for nuts and bolts and things. You would think he actually works on a lot of cars with all that stuff he

I liked the magnet mat and magnet thingy so much I got one for my dad. And I am making him 2 saw horses, since we borrowed his 3 years ago and they got ruined...oops. (yes you did read it right, I am making the saw horses, Bobby is there supervising though )

Cozy Crab

Ryleigh went swimming today with me at my Aunts house. Bobby bought her a cozy crab baby seat. She loved it. She kicked her little legs and had a blast! After an house she started shivering so we got out. Now she is fast asleep. I hope she sleeps for a little bit. Here are some pictures and a video.

Kaleb Schwade

First let me say Kaleb is not my son. He is Kristy and Josh's son. I do not know the family at all. Im just someone that was touched by the story so I wrote about it. My daughter is 2 days younger than Kaleb.

There is a little boy named Kaleb in a Tampa FL hospital right now. Here is their story: (I didnt write it, I took it from here

As told to me by Kristy. Forgive me if any details are incorrect.
Like any responsible parents, Kristy and Josh Schwade wanted what was best for their only child, Kaleb. They did a background check on their day care worker, and even interviewed her in her home for two hours. Kristy was even willing to drive 20 miles out of her way to provide, what they thought to have been, "optimum" care in a good neighborhood.
On May 9th, 2007 their worst nighmare was brought to fruition. After being in the care of this home day care worker only five times, Kaleb was picked up by his Grandmother and Aunt. They noticed that he was lethargic and experiencing obvious breathing abnormalities. The caregiver told them he was ill, but Kaleb had just visited the doctors the day before and was given a "clean bill of health". When Kristy arrived at her mother's home to pick Kaleb up, she described him as "having no life in his body". She tried repeatedly to wake him, but with no avail. She and her father got in the car and rushed to the hospital. While in the vehicle, Kristy lifted Kaleb's little eyelids. She noticed that his pupils were different sizes. Being the wife of an EMT, she knew immediately that this was the sign of a head injury- Kaleb needed IMMEDIATE care. They stopped at the nearest firestation. The ambulance took him to the nearest hospital, and he was classified as a "trauma alert". He was then life-flighted to Tampa General Hospital, and was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). He was diagnosed as having Shaken Baby Syndrome. They also discovered that he had been SMOTHERED!
Kristy is not currently working, and she and Josh spend every possible moment by their young son's side. Medical bills, cost of gas, lawyer fees (I assume they will begin building), and general living expenses are mounting.
When something happens to your child, your world STOPS. Suddenly it doesn't matter that your "roots" are growing out and you are getting split ends. It doesn't matter that your neighbor is parking his dumpy car in your parking spot. You no longer care that someone cut you off on the highway, or that someone jumps infront of you in line at the grocery store. Nothing else matters but your child.
Kaleb is their world. The doctors. The PICU. It's all that matters now.
This family is not asking for anything other than your prayers. However- PLEASE, in addition to PRAYING for this family, PLEASE consider supporting them financially. Whether you can give $1 or $10,000- no gift is too small or too large. You can ONLY be blessed by giving.
This situation has become widespread because a friend of Kristy's decided to forward her bulletin asking people to pray for the family. PLEASE support them by spreading the word about this page. The more people who are aware, the more people who have the opportunity to bless this family.
Thank you for viewing this page, and for supporting Kaleb and his family.
Oh, and many of you have been concerned whether or not the sitter has been charged. YES charges have been pressed, but she is currently out of jail on a $5,000 bond.
Below is Kristy's original bulletin posted shortly after the incident.
Hello everyone...I write you this message in grief in faith. My son Kaleb was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room on Wed. after we picked him up from the babysitters house. At UCH they determined that Kaleb had a SubDural Hematoma (His brain is bleeding). He then was Bayflighted (helicopter) to Tampa General Hospitals Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on a Trauma Alert.Doctors determined that Kaleb was shaken while at the homecare he goes to. He is suffering from Shaking Baby Syndrome. When we first arrived at the hospital they put a pressure gage into his head to moniter the Intercranial Pressure (The pressure that the brain is under due to swelling and Bleeding). He wasn't doing too well all day yesterday, his pressure in his head was ranging between 29-40 and the normal pressure is between 5-20. So doctors decided that the best thing to do was to put a tube into his brain to drain spinal fluid from his ventricle. This procedure was a sucess and brought the pressure down.Today however, they did a Cat Scan and saw that Kaleb is now suffering from a stroke and has formed a new bleed in the brain.I beleive in Miralcles! I believe that prayer works. I am asking you, all of my friends, whether you know me well or not to PLEASE pray for my little boy Kaleb. He needs a miracle and we need your help!I know some of you may not believe in God... But he exists! And he's already performed one miracle. Please I ask you, I beg you, to Pray for my little boy and my family. He is my everything.

Here is a link to Kristy's site

I also checked this on and it is true. Here is the link to it

Please pray for this little guy and his family. He needs it right now! Kristy tryes to update on her myspace blog every morning.

OMGosh how GROSSSS!!!!!

Ryleigh has been having a hard time pooping lately...its been really hard. SO I decided to give her some apples for dinner to hopefully help alittle. She was in her high chair...I fed her 3oz of apples with some barley, and carrots and squash. After that I gave her some watermelon in her fresh food feeder. After about 20 min she was done so I went over to pick her up. My hand went in something warm, wet and squishy. I looked at Bobby, lifted her skirt up and said "Please tell me this isnt what I think it is" He had a look of absolute horror on his face and said "OH DEAR GOD! TIFFANY DONT MOVE!...." Then he said "Too late!" I looked on the floor and little dots of poop were on the floor. I didnt know what to do with her and I had poop all over my hand and all over the front of my shirt. I said lets just throw her clothes and all in the was THAT bad!!!! I was gagging and trying not to throw up. While she was in the tub we stripped her and then emptied the tub and filled it back up to clean her off. We just sprayed her with the shower head. After that I got her dressed and put her in her Bumbo. I went over to her high chair to see if there was poop in it. There was a HUGE pile of poop! Bobby took the chair outside and sprayed it with the hose. Now we are all clean and everything is back to normal. That was so gross!

(Teresa this totally has your hairball story beat!!!)

Physical Therapy is Over

I went for 3 weeks and it wasnt helping at all, so today he said to call the doctor and find out what plan "B" is. He said my range of motion is great and since im not constantly in alot of pain I wouldnt need surgery or anything, which is great news. My pain is in my lower back, and it just aches all day. In the morning and it night its the worst. My main problem is bending to pick things up.....mainly Ryleigh. I will call the Dr. on Monday. The goon news is I dont have to go to PT anymore and leave Ryleigh 3x a week for 2 hrs. I hated leaving her!!! I feel lost without her :(

At the old house we got all kinds of cable channels. When we moved here, he hooked everything up, but we were missing a whole bunch of channels. He said someone must have made a mistake at the old house because we werent supposed to get those channels. A few months ago FIL was channel surfing and I discovered that all of the sudden we got all the "cool" channels again. Well.....I turned on the TV yesterday and they took them back again! Damn cable people! Now miss Ryleigh doesnt get to watch Disney anymore :(

Cranky Ryleigh!

Ryleigh must be going through another growth spurt. The past 2 days shes been eating every 2 hrs instead of every 3. Shes really cranky too :(

The Fish is sleeping

I went to my friends house today to hang out. She noticed that the fish was floating at the top of the bowl. She told me the fish died and that she hoped the girls wouldnt find out. She was going to replace it tomorrow. We were talking and we hear "MEAGHAN.....YOUR FISH IS DEAD!" We started laughing. We were trying to convince them that the fish was "just sleeping" Meghan is in there snaping her fingers at the fish and tells me "if hes JUST sleeping, how come he isnt waking up when I snap my fingers" I said he must be a heavy So this is what I have to look forward to as Ryleigh gets older.

Ryleigh slept for 11 hrs last night!!!! I was SHOCKED! I let her go to my moms house last night. I dont know what they did to

Quiet Evening

I was talking to my mom the other day and I told her if she wanted to pick up Ryleigh after work every once in a while and take her for a few hrs that I was OK with that. She called me this afternoon, and asked if she could "steal" Ryleigh for a few hrs. She came and got her after work, around 5:30pm. Bobby and I went outside and hung up a hamock and just hung out and played with the dogs. My mom dropped her off at about 8:45pm. I fed her and layed her down. Shes asleep for hopefully the next 6 hrs or more :) Wishful thinking.....

I was at target today and saw this thing you can put fruits and veggies in. Over the weekend I let Ryleigh taste my watermelon. I didnt think she cared for it untill I took it away so I could finish eating. She got mad, as soon as I put it back in her mouth she was So here is Ryleigh trying some more watermelon in her new fresh food feeder.

Coffee Cups

I got this email from my mom. I thought it had a great message.

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to
visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into
complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the
professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and
an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain
looking, some expensive, some exquisite telling them to help themselves
to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the
professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were
taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for
you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your
problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to
the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases
even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not
the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began
eyeing each other's cups. Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the
jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to
hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor
change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on
the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the
coffee, not the cups..... Enjoy your coffee! "The happiest people don't
have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything." Live
simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to
God. You are the miracle, your life either shines a light - or casts a

Bobby and I always try and appreciate what we have. Right before we got married we bought a house. It wasnt by any means the best looking house on the block, but it was our house, and we took care of it, and when we had some extra money we improved some things in it. One day Bobby was outside and a man came to the house. He told Bobby that he wanted to buy our house. Bobby Brought him inside and the man said "I want to talk to you about buying your house" I immidiatly said "Its not for sale" He explained to me that there was a coal company coming through and gave us an offer. I didnt know if he was legitamate or not, so I called my dad and he came over. My dad said everything was ok and we took the mans offer. It was $10,000 shy of being 4x what we paid for the house! We signed an option agreement, and when I was almost 7 mo. preg. We sold and bought the house we are in now. Bobby and I have had many blessings in our life and I believe its because we are always happy with what we have and live with in our mean. We dont have credit cards. We spend what we have and we are greatful for what we are able to get.

Weed Eater

Bobby was out in the garage, so Ryleigh and I took a walk out there. I brough her bumbo and she sat and watch Bobby fixing the weed eater. When I got down there he had it all torn apart. He said that it needed cleaned and put back together to see if he could get it started. He put a wire brush thing on the front of the drill and I cleaned some of the pieces. He let me put it back together too. He told me where everything went, but I was screwing the pieces back together. I did a pretty good job. When we got it back together it still didnt start though. Probally didnt help that Bobby dropped a part and bent it. And then put another part in the vice and bent it. When he tryed to unbend them the pieces flew Im sure that didnt help things. Oh well. I guess its time for a new one. It was fun though hanging out with him in the "man garage" and getting my hands dirty....hehe.

Dance Recital

Yesterday I went to Haylee, 5.5 yrs, and Meghan's , 7.5 yrs, dance recital. It was so cute to watch them up there on stage. They did such a great job!

The recital overall was cute. One of my favorites was a ballet routine. They danced to the song Jet plane (I think that's the name of it....I'm leaving on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again...KWIM??) There were 3 boys dressed in Camo pants and army shits with dog tags and the girls would dance around them. It was REALLY cute! There was another with 4 little girls Probably 4 yrs old. They came out on tricycles and then got off and danced. The one little girl looked like she was SOOOOO Excited to just be up there on stage, she was dancing all over the place...not even close to the routine. The girl beside her is just standing there looking at her like "what the heck are you doing, thats not how it goes!" It was so funny. Then at the end all of the girls were supposed to get on the tricycles and leave the stage. The first 2 girls left, the 3rd little girl was on her bike and the last little girl was STILL dancing her lil heart out. It was so cute!

6 Month Check up

We just got back from Ryleighs 6 month Well baby visit. It went very well. She is 15lbs and 27" long. She got 2 shots. She cryed and turned red...poor girl! He said I can introduce meats, but Im going to wait at least another month on that. I just started fruits about a week ago. He also said to wait close to 9 months for the finger foods.
