Baby Clothes

Do the makers of baby clothes actually have kids?? Dont they know that all babies are different? Ryleigh is tall for her age. She has a long torso. Most of the time if its a 2 piece outfit I have to get the top a bigger size than the pants. Even then the pants dont fit right. I got her a 6-9mo. pair of pants the other day. Thank goodness for adjustable waists! The waist was huge on her. I had to tighten it 6 spots on each side. Even then, they are baggy, but stay up...lol. Then length is pretty good though. She still has an inch or so to grow. But pretty soon she will have to have the 12 month jeans and there is no way they are going to fit her around the waist. But they will be good in length. So I either have pants that fit in length and are huge everywhere else, or they look like flood waters and they fit everywhere else. So what baby/Child clothing issues do you have?

Hi Tiffany: Michele sent me to say that I am constantly amazed when buying clothes for Boo(4) and Skibo(2) how little resemblance the supposed sizes have to the actual size!

Hi Michele sent me. I don't have kids but, I was very skinny as a child and very tall. I couldn't wear jeans or the coveted jean skirt that I wanted so much.

Apparel designers always seem to zone in on the bell curve, virtually ignoring anyone who falls outside the so-called norm.

Our daughter's the same way, kinda: her legs are extremely long relative to her torso. So we often have cinch in the bigger sizes, otherwise they'll fall right off of her.

It's been a problem since she was a munchkin, but it's getting even worse now that she's 9. Still, she sees it as a fashion adventure, so it's not all bad. Amazing what a positive attitude can accomplish.

Hello Tiffany, Michele sent me! I don't have any baby clothing issues, as I'd need a baby first! But I've just read all the posts on the front page of your blog and really enjoyed it. You have a lovely family and seem so happy with your life. It made me smile to read about it and see your pictures. :)

Michele sent me over, Tiffany.

You might have to go with skirts for a while. Or give her lots of hamburgers and French fries. Those seem to really make waists bigger fast. At least it works with adults.

Hi Tiffany --- Michele sent me again:-)

You should see the handmedowns that Boo (5 in november) just got from her friend B, who won't even be 4 for a couple of months yet... and the handmedowns are huge!

It starts as children and then gets worse as we get older.....

I have bought children's clothes for years, and I love elastic, adjustable this, buttoned that and machine washable....

Michele sent me to see just how gorgeous Ryleigh is....

I always had (still have) problems with Kenzie and getting clothes to fit right. You are right, adjustable waists are the best invention.
What a cutie in her new oufit though!

Yes Tiffany i think this all the time, both my girls are really to skinny for their height , Rebecca is the worst and while she is in 12-18 month lenght is really only about 6-9 months weight. Rebecca spent most of her first 2 years in dresses and skirts as trousers were just a nightmare, Why don't more places do adjustable waist
